An Observation on the Course of Poetry in Modern Society

It seems to me that, over time,
Poetry has lost its rhyme.

Why this is, I cannot guess;
But it has caused me great distress.

For, though, in our enlightened age,
One can put what one likes upon the page,

I must say, before I’m done,
That rhymeless verse is just less fun.
